Lol, we actually had a discussion about this in my English class.

The release of the book was big, but I think the leak of the whole book that happened about a week before its release and the disbelief of thousands of fans that JKR would write that crap (as well as the straight-out lie of Scholastic that that version wasn't real...only to find out that, unfortunately, it was) was bigger.

...I'm still trying to get over "Accio Hagrid". Pfft.

Actually, I think Jonapello is right. I don't think Dumbledore is Gay was that big of an announcement. It didn't change anything for me at all about how I viewed him or his role in the books. I'd put Dumbledore being gay at the BOTTOM of the list.

to be honest i didn't know dumbledore was gay until today!

@ Jonapello and Cinders: I'm not saying that it made me view Dumbles any differently, but you can't deny that it WAS a big announcement. News was all over it, the churches jumped at it, english classes discussed what impact it had on literature, the gay community celebrated....

It was much bigger than the Beetle the Bard announcement, at least. I didn't even hear about that one, and I probably won't read it.

likatika, he's definitely gay. Obviously, the release of the book is bigger than anything else. I'm very excited for the theme park though! It's in America though so maybe I can go in... 7 years.
