Everyone seems to have a pissy attitude about this, but im SOOOO happy.!

anyone who has seen OotP should be super happy that they're takeing the time to do this movie the right way.!

and i feel that no TRUE hp fan, can honestly complain about paying to see the book split into two movies. i mean really. the movie ticket is only ten bucks! and thats only in the bigger cities, most places in the US is only 7

and tose who say "OMG thats 6 whole months apart"

we've waited longer for movies than 6 months, and have waited WAY longer than that for books.!

but mostly, im happy cause i was SO sad when The last book was out, the Deathly Hollows movie, is the last thing that will ever happen for Harry POtter series, the last BIG "wait"

and that they're spreading that one out a little bit, makes it a bit more calming.
Im not ready for it to be over.
and really, we've all read the book, we know whats going to happen!!!

omg are they actually? :S
how long apart will they be though :( if only they could make one reallyyyyyyy long movie
I know it will give the whole story justice which is great, I just wish they could have everything contained in one but atleast they won't have an excuse for cutting important stuff out

I feel that it would be better, if like Lord of the Rings, they made the movie longer. People can't sit in a theater for four hours anymore?

I agree with you NikaDawson! I asked that same question on the Leaky Cauldron, and I got lashed at! I mean, come on, if your a loyal fan, you should be excited to see a movie THAT long!

a lot of people wont WANT to sit in the theatre for four hourse, and the Lord of the Rings movies were NOT four hours long the longest one was only 3 hours and twenty minuts
=D

they're only going to be about 5 1/2 months apart, and if anyones compareing this to LotR

they should look at how successfull it was to split it into three movies, yea the books were split too, but these are different directors, and we've seen what they're done with past hp films, were they cut out a lot of GOOD parts, this way they wont.!

I'm guessing that this just means it will suck twice as much.

The movies that are already out are FUBAR, and to me, that's irreversible. Why bother to start doing a good job on the last one?

gracie08 picked I love the two-part idea, but I don't like the six month wait:
i can't believe people don't have enough patience to sit through a long movie as good as the Harry Potters. how unloyal is that, that you can't stand to give it four hours of your time? now, we have to wait extra for the final installation, plus, they're ruining the magic number. seven is one of the big things in harry potter. what the heck???!!!

I'm all for bringing back an intermission in movies. I recently saw Gone with the Wind in a theater and they gave the audience the intermission. It was really nice - I think that they should revive that practice. It would work well for movies like these that really need more time to cover the material. That's what they should have done with the 5th movie!

I agree with the above. The local cinema I go to offers showings with intermissions on films above two hours. I saw No Country for Old Men, The Assasination of Jesse James and POTC that way.
And to be honest, I really like this idea, I was so scared they were going to cut out some really important bits in the book.

What are they going to do, make you pay so much to watch one part of the movie in theatres and go and pay the same amount for part two? Then you'll have to pay $40-$50 dollars for one movie split into? If thats the case, then I'll pass.

It means the whole book will be given about 6 hours of screen time! I think it's fantastic!!! We're Harry Potter fans we're used to waiting and there's always something disappointing about the movies, you can't avoid it. They would have had to cut SO much and we just couldn't take that I'm sure.

i just don't think there is enough going on in Part 1 to justify it having its own movie. i saw a piece of flair on facebook once; it said something along the lines of, "The real name of the 7th Harry Potter book: HARRY POTTER AND THE EXTENDED CAMPING TRIP" and while i love all things HP, i couldn't agree more...
