Texas walked to the buffet tabled and piled his plate high. Everywhere, the nations went up to him and tried to speak in a Texan accent. It was actually quite sad, almost all of them sounded like an accent from Louisiana’s place.
Texas sat down at one of the few folding tables and started eating some of the finger foods, starting with the jerky and then heading for some of Delaware’s cupcakes. After his first sweet bite of frosting, he looked up to see a nation pull out the chair next to him and sit down.
Hungary, he remembered her name was. He swallowed and smiled, “Hi. I’m Texas, one of ‘Merica’s states.” He stuck out his hand to shake hers. Hungary took his hand, shook it, and burst out laughing. Texas looked at her nervously, “What is it?”
The nation reached over and poked his nose. Bringing her hand back, Texas saw a big glob of white on her finger. He realized that it was frosting, and wiped the rest off his face, getting increasingly red. Hungary laughed, “I see you liked the cupcakes!”
Virginia stood of her turntables and looked out into the throng of dancing bodies. The nations sure did know how to party. She felt a thump at her temple; she looked down and saw a crumpled blank piece of paper.
The state looked up and saw Spain grinning and waving to her from behind a support beam. Virginia set a runup of songs to last for at least two hours, and hopped off the stage.
The blond grabbed his arm and pulled him onto the front porch. “You came!” She whispered giddily. Virginia wrapped her arms around Spain’s neck and hugged him. Spain laughed and returned the hug.
Utah went through the mob of dancing nations, hugging herself tightly. She would have a better time if she knew where her siblings were. She was more likely to have a fun party time if she knew people.
She was also hoping to see at least one person who felt as out of place as she did, so she wasn’t as alone. As she was nearing the stairs to head up to her room, someone tapped on her shoulder. She turned around to see a short Asian man.
“Hello, I am Japan. I was wondering if you knew where the bathroom is. I’m not very used to these parties, and I didn’t know if any were off limits,” the man said over the noise of the crowd. Utah smiled shyly and nodded.
California laughed nervously at Romano, “Sorry?” Romano had started shaking in anger. “Here, I can go get you a towel if you’d like?” She swam quickly to the side of the pool and came back with a towel.
Romano snatched the towel and quickly dried the tomato in his hand. He slowly waded to the side of the pool and pulled himself to sit on the side. The auburn nation was muttering angrily when California sat next to him.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t really think that I my jump would make such a splash, I usually only make a little wave! But I guess that I’m getting better at cannonballs then, right? I prefer surfing to just plain old swimming, but I didn’t want to leave in the middle of a party, I mean, I did want to leave, but that would be rude, right? And besides, I-“ California was interrupted by Romano stuffing his tomato into her mouth.
Romano looked at her pointedly, “Please, if I say it’s okay, will you shut up?” California nodded and took the tomato out of her mouth.
Michigan got red and smacked her forehead, she always praised herself for being a good detective, and she couldn’t even tell that the nation before her was a man! China looked at her worriedly, “Is hitting yourself something America taught you? It’s not a good habit, aru. Come here and sit down, and don’t hit yourself again!”
Michigan followed the country and sat on a chair at the side of the dance floor. China started babbling on about how respect for yourself was key to being happy, and Michigan, becoming restless at the idea of the missing lighter, took out her notepad and started writing down the clues to finding the lighter.
China finally noticed that the state wasn’t listening and sat down next to her. “What on earth are you writing that isn’t as important as self respect?” Michigan looked up and explained the problem she was having with the lighter. He listened thoughtfully to the state.
America was going to do a quick head count of the states when his arm was quickly tugged by a nervous looking Lithuania. “Mr. America? You… You haven’t seen M-Mr. Russia, have you?”
America laughed and pulled the country into an embrace. “Great to see you man!”
I'm sooooo sorry this took so long! I did this in a day, so sorry if it sucks! I should be able to get part 4 out soon. Don't worry Nevada! ;) Thanks for reading, please comment!
