Is she miscast?

I have only known the actress to play mean and bad girls, which I think she was good with that but Laurel isn't really one. She doesn't come off very sympathetic and warm in portraying her.

The actress is good, she has a lot of range compared to the other actresses on this show. Its the warmth thats I think is missing that I think is needed for a character like this.

Maybe the writers can fix this and write the character more consistent and less abrasive, still tough and independent but not to "hard". Or the actress can play the character less smug. Failing this recast might be an option.
