"All right!" cried Charles happily. "Time to get out there and show ourselves to the world again!"
"We're back on the road!" laughed Jimmy in agreement, and they slapped their hands together in something between a handshake and a high-five.
The band and Henry were waiting outside for their car to come and take them to their first destination. Mostly Charles and Jimmy had been doing the talking, Charles enthusiastically wondering how their fans would like the new songs he'd spent their break working on, and Jimmy encouraging him.
"I've been dying for our fans to hear this one. I think it's my best yet!"
"Oh yeah. They'll flip over you when they hear it!"
Felix smiled at their antics, then glanced over to his other side, wondering why Les didn't join in. He sat on a bench next to Henry with his head down, his guitar tucked between his legs and clasped tightly in his hands.
"Nervous, Les?" Henry asked him.
"I'm okay," Les replied.
But Felix didn't miss how tight Les's voice was when he said it.
Henry patted Les on the shoulder. "I know you boys haven't toured in a while, but I knew how much you all wanted to get back on the road."
Les nodded weakly.
Felix frowned. That wasn't like Les. What was going on here?
