I agree with you! I think the best season's were 1-3. Inside I get a kick out of their friendship KNOWING their future! Whenever Lex messed-up and Clark was upset with him, Lex got this sad look on his face that melted my heart ♥ :) Lex wanted so bad to have the friendship of Clark.

I agree with you completely!! Their deep friendship was what made me watch all the time and what also carried the show!!! When the writers destoryed that in season 5 by using Lana and other elements, I kinda stopped watching!!! And as the seasons went on Lex got darker as Clark's resentment pushed him away, i hated that!!! I think in the end though, and they'll never admit it, Lex and Clark still loved each other as brothers, even through they were at opposite ends of the stick!! I guess that's one of the biggest tragities in the series for me!! I wanted Clark to pull Lex out of the darkness, even though he gave up on himself, i think Clark gave up on Lex soooo easily!!!
I soooooo agree with totally! But the writers said they wanted to try and stay with the story from the comics. I don't know the comics so I don't know if Smallvilee is just really weird now or keeping with the comic story.
Yes, I see your point. Smallville is getting weird, hard to follow, for me anyway. When Lex took Lana (by force) that just broke Clark. It just wasn't the same since.
well from what I know this show was an excuse to stray from the comics completely. I know they're trying to stay true but how can you develope brotherly chemistry between these talented actors and destory it soooo quickly!! I know comics are written a different way but after everything I still couldn't hate Lex, I still felt that pain he was suffering with!!! After losing the one person you cared about, wouldn't you go off the deep end? Clark talks about saving ppl as a importance in his life, but what about saving the soul of his best friend???
i totally agree with all of you i loved their friendship even though i knew they were destined to be enemies they made very good friends thats one of the best part of the earlier days in smallville
yesss! i was totaly bummed! i mean at the same time, i was just waiting for it to bomb, but i miss happy friend lex. Me and my sis were acctually joking that we were annoyed with the show cuz you know, It makes you like lex! feel bad for him! Be happy he got engadged! Be worried when the plane crashed! YOUR NOT SUPOSSED TO LIKE LEX LUTHOR!..but we did.:)
I know no matter what he did wrong I could never hate him, I found myself always on his side!!! Because of smallville lex is one of my favorite characters, I know he's meant to become the bad guy but I just can't hate him!!! Every season and episode I kept hoping Clark would try to save lex's soul, but he never did making me resent him...until finally just plain angry at him!!!
I think this relationship ending was and is for the best cause clark is the best and doesn't deserve any-less or much more not that he needs it.
BUT to watch them both be so friendly towards one another and get along is soooo SMALLVILLE

I totally disagree!!!:( Lex and Clark's friendship was special and it was strong up until things occurred in season 5, thanks in large part to thoes damn writers!!! It was the reason I kept watching the show, seeing this now judgmental Clark is soooooooooooooo annoying, I don't see how it was for the best!!!
