“Matt, take Alaska and go watch TV or something.” I wave my youngest son out of the room.
Y/N and I were going to have a talk with our two oldest, Johnny and Katie.
They were good kids, I wasn’t going to lie. They had their share of mistakes, but nothing had gotten out of hand.
Yet.
Which is why we were going to talk to them.
“So Johnny, your dad told me what you were doing. We just want you to know that we aren’t mad, just disappointed that you chose to smoke. Your dad admits that he is bad influence, and we’d just prefer if you were going to smoke, you’d wait till your 18… Dally, do you have anything to add?” She turns to me.
I shake my head. Y/N was better at lecturing than I was.
She turns back to Johnny. “Do you understand?”
He nods his head. “Sorry.” He mumbles.
She smiles at him, the same smile he had. “We’re just lookin out for you, baby.” She turns to Katie. “Not Katie…”
It suddenly struck me at how much Katie’s grown up. I shake the thought from my head as Y/N says something about being responsible and all that shit.
“Katherine Jane Winston, don’t kiss any more boys.” I blurt out.
“Dally!” Y/N says. “I was trying to be a little discreet.”
Katie’s face is turning red now.
“SOMEONE KISSED ME LITTLE SISTER?!?” Johnny fumes, obviously a bit upset from this news.
Y/N turns to Johnny. “I thought you’d know… Considering it was one of your friends…”
“WHAT?!?” Johnny and I say at the same time.
Katie’s as red as a tomato now, looking down and biting her lip.
I turn to Johnny. “This friend is not coming over anymore.”
“I’m going to kill him.” Johnny says. “What a little-“
“Language.” Y/N raises her eyebrows.
I turn back to Katie. “Just… I can’t believe I’m having this conversation. And Johnny you need to pick better friends.”
