The Sims 3 Question

Do you agree?

Do you agree that game designers should continue family stories like they did with The Sims 2?
I mean, in The Sims 1, Mortimer was an adult and Cassandra child, in The Sims 2 he's an elder and she's adult, and they did the same thing with other families from The Sims 1.
And if you look on the Pleasantview's description it says: "A lot has happened in 25 years..."
Why didn't they continue story for another 25 years, and tell everyone what happened with Bella and other families.
Instead of everything, they made Mortimer and Bella children...

Well, I think they wanted to dig deeper in the characters' past, which is something that hasn't been explored before. Plus TS2 was already a sequel to the previous game, so maybe they decided to make the third installment a prequel? Either way, I'm absolutely fine with TS3 being set 25 years before TS and 50 years before TS2.

Oh, and I think they wanted to keep Bella's fate a secret so it's up to the players' to think what happened to her. It wouldn't be interesting anymore if they continued the story and revealed what happened. What makes Bella so popular among us Simmers is her mysterious disappearance, you know:)
